California is not the only state that knows how to party! Let’s just say that on occasion we’ve been known to party until the sun goes down. In case you’re wondering when that might be…

it pretty much doesn’t go down…

Special Events

We’ve mentioned this on other parts of our site, but we figured that we’d do it again. If you’re interested in renting out the tavern or restaurant for your private event, we can help you out. Both spots offer a great atmostphere and ample space for groups of many different sizes with many different needs.

Carriage House Restaurant

The Carriage House Restaurant was built in the late 1920’s. The building itself has its own unique history. It’s been used as a carriage and wheel repair shop, a lumber yard, and a general store. It finally found its current identity in the 1970’s and has been providing delicious food and beverages in a casual and interesting atmosphere ever since.

Trappers' Den Tavern

Originally constructed as a garage by the United States Army in World War II, the Trappers’ Den brings its own fun history to the Gakona Lodge story. It used to be in a different location altogether on the property too.

In the late 1960’s the newly moved garage building was converted into a bar and became known as the Trappers’ Den Tavern. For about 50 years now, the Trappers’ Den has been a favorite hangout and stop-in of locals and travelers alike.

Check our News and Events page for scheduled live music and other events at the tavern.

Special Events

From Weddings to Family Reunions to Baby/Bridal Showers to Motorcycle Rallies, we can decorate our diverse facilities to meet your unique needs for that once-in-a-lifetime event or that annual guys or gals trip tradition you’ve been wanting to start.

Nice little place with warm hospitality and cozy accommodation. The hosts were kind enough to keep the restaurant open past regular hours for us to grab a late dinner following our late arrival at the property. The lodge is located at a very scenic spot with a river running right behind the property and mountains in the backdrop. The people are awesome. The food at the restaurant was good. Service was excellent. The cabins were cozy with comfortable bed. The water in the shower was hot. Everything including the WiFi worked as expected. I would love to come back to this place again.
